Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technicians
Nursing Assistants/Patient Care Technicians work on the patient care areas in conjunction with the patient care team to provide quality care to our patients. These positions provide direct patient care to include taking blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperatures, and providing personal care assistance such as bathing, dressing, eating, and walking.
We provide a wide range of scheduling options to meet your needs in various full-time and part-time positions. In addition, we have a 50 out of 52 Weekend Option that is designed to offer flexibility to CNA's enrolled in school to become a Registered Nurse. This candidate must meet certain eligibility requirements including 1 year of experience as a CNA, with a GPA of 2.5 or above.
A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified CNA candidates upon hiring into a full-time position at the Medical Center. This sign-on bonus is pro-rated for part-time positions.
A CNA Course is available in conjunction with ERS. This course is designed to provide basic nursing skills for those employees giving direct patient care and includes lectures, labs, and clinical hours needed to complete the IDPH requirements to take the state Certification Exam. You must be hired as an employee to attend this course.

Disease Management/Health Educator
EEG Technologist/Certified Intraoperative - INI Institute
Illinois Neurological Institute (INI) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center provides a full spectrum of adult and pediatric care for illnesses affecting the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerve in a distinctive environment melding research, teaching and tertiary care medicine. The INI has raised the standard of neurological care in Illinois and worldwide. Highly qualified sub-specialty neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-radiologists, neuro-pathologists, physiatrists and neuroscience nurses have provided collaboration and vision to make it so.
The EEG Technologist performs a broad range of neuro-electro-physiology
procedures including EEG's, Video Monitoring, Intraoperative
Monitoring, Evoked Potential procedures and Brain Electrical Activity
Mapping procedures. The EEG Technologist must have completed an
associate's degree in END and has an opportunity to move into different
levels based on eligibility to complete various registries

Sleep Lab / Polysomographic Technologist
The OSF Saint Francis Sleep Disorders Center is a source of help for adults, children and infants with sleep disorders. A comprehensive array of services is provided with professional care in a comfortable, warm environment.
Evaluation, testing, interpretation of studies and follow-up are all done in one state-of-the-art center. The Sleep Disorders Center staff take great pride in the fact that patients receive not only professional evaluation and testing, but also exceptional follow-up and support.
Testing for sleep disorders normally requires and overnight sleep study. Therefore, the sleep study bedrooms have been designed with the comforts of home. Patients enjoy a queen-sized bed, private full bath, television, desk with a data port, recliner and more.
Testing is painless. Experienced technologists use integrated digital video imaging for recording the studies. This allows the physicians to interpret the patient's sleep data and sleep-related behavior at once. The Center is a resource for physicians with patients needing sleep evaluation and/or testing.
Based on prior experience, or as a supervised trainee in this position, the technologist learns to perform or performs nocturnal and diurnal sleep studies, including monitoring of EEG, EOG, EMG, Nasal/oral airflow, chest excursions, ear oximetry and other special procedures.
The Polysomnographic Technologist requires a high school education and
is eligible at the time of employment, or will be eligible upon
completion of an 18 month on the job training period, for registration
in polysomnographic technology by the Board of Registered
Polysomnographic Technologists

Laboratory
Comprised of six hospital laboratory facilities located throughout North Central Illinois and Michigan, the OSF System Laboratory offers a full array of testing services. OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria serves as the esoteric testing center for the OSF System Laboratory.
With eleven board-certified pathologists, three Ph.D. scientists,
and over 270 laboratory employees obtaining results for more than
200,000 test requests each month, the OSF System Laboratory provides
immediate response and support for clinicians. The OSF System Lab
offers a full array of testing services, meeting the needs of fifteen
hospitals, several nursing homes, and thousands of physicians. In
addition to chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology, and
histology testing, we perform on site flow Cytometry, specialized
coagulation testing, and operate a full service cytogenetics
department. Our laboratories are certified by the College of American
Pathologists, the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care
Organizations, and accredited under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement
Act of 1988.
The OSF System Laboratory boasts the following:
- Full array of laboratory services, providing diagnostic testing to fifteen hospitals, and thousands of physicians.
- Certified by the College of American Pathologists, the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and accredited under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988.
- Technologically advanced, state of the art 40,000 square foot facility has allowed us to further expand our test menu and scope of services to our clients and patients.
- The School of Clinical Laboratory Science and the School of Histotechnology are part of the OSF System Laboratory commitment to academic and educational development.

Outpatient Services
Outpatient Services at OSF Saint Francis is committed to reaching beyond our healthcare facilities to help meet the needs of the people of our community. We serve all ages through a large variety of health and wellness education and community programs. At all of our outpatient centers, you are first priority. And with on-time appointments and phone registration, you spend more time where you want - at home.
There are eight different Outpatient sites and each site offers several different services including Lab, EKG, X-ray, and Mammography. Prompt care Services are available at some of our sites as well. These services require positions such as clerical, Lab/EKG Techs, X-ray Technologists with experience in various areas such as diagnostics, mammography, CT, and MRI.

Radiology
The members of our Imaging and Radiology Department work with leading-edge equipment and apply the latest techniques.
Radiologic Technologists, working with a range of imaging techniques including diagnostic and interventional radiology, digital X-ray, mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT and Ultrasound, diagnose illnesses and determine the cause of various symptoms. Radiologic technology professionals include X-Ray Technologists who use radiation to take images of internal organs, and CT Technologists, who operate scanners that create computer-generated images called CAT scans. MRI Technologists pass patients through powerful magnetic radio signals, and banks of computers analyze the images that result.
These innovative diagnostic tools have greatly enhanced the ability to identify causes of illnesses, driven early detection efforts and lead to much more targeted treatment. And, if it's the newest, the latest, the breakthrough that's making headlines and saving lives, you'll no doubt find it here. We have the most advanced MRI technology, including 1.5 and 3T. Our services include multi-slice CT equipment, PACS electronic imaging, compound imaging Ultrasound and full-range Nuclear Medicine. This impressive configuration of advanced imaging devices means you'll have the opportunity to learn in a state-of-the-art environment and work alongside some of the most talented people in the field.

Colleges and universities with approved clinical affiliation provide
Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in Radiologic Technology. Completion
of an accredited radiology program and certification are recommended
prior to acceptance into specialty training. Knowledge of anatomy and
physiology is important, along with the compassion and emotional
maturity that will give you the ability to work well with patients.
