Physicians with quality medical training who have completed board certification are desired. A newly trained physician will be considered with the stipulation that board certification must be achieved within a few years for continued employment. OSF positions include a base salary commensurate with experience plus RVU bonus incentives. Neurology
Ottawa, Illinois - The Illinois Neurological Institute (INI), a major teaching affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), seeks a neurologist for a new position being created in Ottawa in order to expand the clinical practice. The INI group practice, with headquarters in Peoria, Illinois, includes sixteen neurologists and six nurse practitioners. Most faculty are fellowship trained and subspecialties include multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-rehabilitation, epilepsy, stroke, headache/pain, and sleep medicine. This new general neurology practice will begin with one neurologist and expand as soon as possible to two neurologists. The physician will see outpatients at our Ottawa practice and perform hospital consultations (inpatient and emergency department) at Ottawa Regional Hospital. Once the practice includes at least 2 neurologists, consultations at St. Margaret's Hospital (Spring Valley, Illinois) and Illinois Valley Community Hospital (Peru, Illinois) will be performed as needed. Night and weekend call for hospital consultations will be 1:3 or better. This new general neurology practice, an expansion of our Peoria office, will begin with one neurologist and expand to two neurologists if patient volume demands. The physician will see outpatients at our Pekin practice and perform hospital consultations (inpatient and emergency department) at Pekin Hospital. Approximately one day a week the neurologist will see outpatients and occasional inpatient consultations in Canton, Illinois at Graham Hospital. Night and weekend call for hospital consultations will be 1:3 or better. Peoria, Illinois - Critical Care Intensivist - We seek a board-certified intensivist who is fellowship trained in critical care medicine and has specific training and/or practice focus in neurocritical care. This is a full-time, salary-supported position. You will serve as a staff neuro-intensivist and will be responsible for providing primary medical management of patients within the unit, as well as oversight and collaboration with other practitioners who provide care in the unit. It is expected that you will be facile in all aspects of multi-system critical care including ICU procedural competencies. The Illinois Neurological Institute (INI) supports well-established, on-site residency training programs in neurology and neurosurgery. There is a clear expectation that you will be engaged in academic scholarly activities to include clinical research, curriculum development, and/or other editorial or primary medical authorship. Joint academic appointment with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) is available and desirable.
Peoria, Illinois - Medical Director for Neurocritical Care Services - We seek a board-certified critical care medicine physician with a career focus in neurosciences who has significant clinical experience post-fellowship to serve as the medical director of Neurocritical Care Services. Prior leadership experience in an academic tertiary care environment is highly desirable. In this position, you will develop a neurocritical care service. You will be responsible for providing medical management of patients within the unit, as well as oversight and collaboration with other practitioners who provide care in the unit. You will additionally oversee and direct all neurocritical care practice efficiencies, quality improvement programs, and educational activities for medical students, residents, nurses, and allied health professionals who provide care in the neurocritical care areas. It is expected that you will be facile in all aspects of multi-system critical care including ICU procedural competencies. In addition to the Illinois Neurological Institute (INI), you will work collaboratively with the director of Critical Care Services at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, other ICU medical directors, the Critical Care Committee, and institutional Quality Medicine. There is a clear expectation that the Medical Director for Neurocritical Care Services will be engaged in academic scholarly activities to include clinical research, curriculum development, and/or other editorial or primary medical authorship.
Peoria, Illinois - Movement Disorders - The Illinois Neurological Institute, a major teaching affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), seeks a movement disorders neurologist. This neurology group practice includes 17 neurologists and 6 nurse practitioners. Subspecialties include multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-rehabilitation, epilepsy, stroke, headache/pain, and sleep. Call is currently 1:14. The very busy INI combines neurology, neurosurgery, PM&R, neuroradiology, and neuropathology and includes a Balance and Vertigo Center, MS Society-accredited Multiple Sclerosis Center, Comprehensive Epilepsy Center (with epilepsy monitoring unit and intraoperative monitoring), a 26-hospital stroke network, and 2 accredited sleep centers with a total of 10 beds. Highly specialized interventional neuroradiologists work closely with our stroke team for acute intervention. Advanced neuroimaging includes MRI, FMRI, PET scan, and Spect scan. Academic appointment at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, research, and teaching residents and medical students are integral parts of this opportunity.
Neurosurgery
Rockford, Illinois - Very busy neurology medicine group practice seeks an additional neurosurgeon to serve a well-established and growing patient base in Rockford. Complex spine and neurotrauma experience and/or interest a plus. Practice in a beautifully designed, functional and well equipped medical office, adjacent to the hospital, with three board certified neurosurgeons and two board-certified neurologists. Call is 1:4 on the weekends for practice patients and 1 week per month for emergency department patients. Strong referral base from OSF Medical Group primary care physicians in the area.
