Family Information
I'm originally from Wisconsin and I live in the Peoria area with my husband and two children.

Hobbies/Interests
Reading, bicycling, walking, spending time with family and friends

Why did you choose audiology?
I had a strong desire to help children and adults hear and communicate more effectively.

Why did you choose Peoria, Illinois, to practice when you could have gone anywhere in the country?
My husband’s career brought us to Peoria.  Although I applied at various practices, I only wanted to work at INI and the Children’s Hospital

Do you have any advice to give your patients?
Become an advocate for yourself when you cannot hear properly. Obtain assistive listening devices appropriate for your hearing loss (e.g. hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems). If you are unsure what was said in a conversation, ask for your conversation partner to rephrase instead of repeating what was said.. Converse with people face to face, in a well lit room, trying to minimize the background sounds. To fill in missing pieces of conversation, ask what the topic of the conversation is and pay attention to gestures and lip movements
