INI Balance and Vertigo Center
The Illinois Neurological Institute (INI) offers a unique weekly vertigo clinic that treats more than 400 patients each year. Clinical neuro-vestibular testing is a non-invasive method of evaluatation, and treatment depends on the source of the problem. Some patients with paroxysmal positional vertigo may benefit from canal repositioning techniques.
Conditions We Treat
Vertigo is defined as a spinning sensation. Vertigo is often referred to as dizziness or unsteadiness, though not all dizziness represents vertigo. The definition of dizziness varies from patient to patient. Vertigo might be caused by vestibular (ear) problems, stroke, head trauma, virus or other illnesses. It can come upon a patient suddenly or be with them for years. Patients complain of dizziness and imbalance, gait disorders and frequent falls.
