Overview of the Epilepsy Center
We believe that one seizure is too many. The Illinois Neurological Institute’s (INI) Comprehensive Epilepsy Center understands the urgency and life-changing impact of epilepsy. That’s why our compassionate team of doctors, nurses, technicians and social workers doesn’t just treat epilepsy. We treat each patient as an individual. Our multi-disciplinary approach integrates medical, neuropsychological and psychosocial treatments, along with a broad range of surgical options.

INI’s Epilepsy Center is home to an experienced and diverse team of medical specialists who create an individualized treatment plan for each patient. That team consists of:

The team meets regularly to study testing and evaluation results and to strategize treatment plans. Throughout the process, the team maintains open lines of communication with referring physicians and family members to discuss treatment and progress.
Just ten years ago, a seizure-free life was almost unthinkable for someone with epilepsy. Today, our comprehensive medical team is changing that. We’ve found that up to 75 percent of people with epilepsy can be seizure-free when treated with the appropriate medication.
