INI Medical Psychology Services
Medical Psychology services is a consultant-based hospital-wide service made up of PhD and LCSW/LCPC clinicians who see inpatients and outpatients 14 years and older for cognitive assessments and medical counseling.
The Neuropsychology team provides cognitive assessment to patients with known or suspected brain injury in such disorders as dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, cardiac events, neoplasm and organ transplant. Evaluations maybe used to assist with the measurement of mental status and to assess changes in cognitive status over time, to assist with recommendations for level of supervision recommended for discharge, decision-making capacity and ability to return to work.
Medical counseling services provides mood assessment and monitoring, as well as counseling for stressors and anxiety/depression related to life-changing medial illness or injury including epilepsy, spinal cord injury, kidney transplant and cancer.
