Neuropsychology / Rehabilitation Psychology

Services in neuropsychology begin with an evaluation of the patient's strengths and weaknesses in the areas of attention, concentration, memory and problem solving, as well as feelings about the unexpected injury or illness. Individual therapy will be provided to help with orientation, memory, problem solving and planning for the future. In addition, individual therapy may be offered to help with coping skills to deal with the changes that have happened.

Therapy interventions may include:

  • Relaxation techniques
  • Pain control methods
  • Stress reduction skills
  • Learning about healthy lifestyle choices

All of these therapies are meant to help patients get the most out of their rehabilitation program and assist with plans for optimal functioning in life.

Our neuropsychologists may also be consulted to evaluate a patient's safety awareness for determining when a patient may be ready to return to higher level skills such as work or driving.
