Multiple Sleep Latency Test
Multiple Sleep Latency Test
Things to know before your Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) (the daytime nap test) at INI Sleep Disorders Center:
- Bring any medication you need to take for the day unless your doctor has told you not to take something. Also, if you are on any kind of stimulant you may be asked not take it the day of your MSLT (for example: Provigil (modafinil), Ritalin (methylphenidate), Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine), Adderall, Concerta).
- Children under 16 need an adult to be here with them all day.
- Adults with special needs will require an adult to stay for the day.
- We will get you up in the morning and have you get dressed; you may want to bring a button-up or wide neck shirt.
- We provide breakfast and lunch.
- You will not be permitted to have caffeine the day of your test.
- You may bring decaffeinated beverages or we can give you ice water.
- You may bring snacks of any kind except chocolate.
- You may bring something to do between your naps, such as books, laptop, crafts, or videos.
- The TV in your room will have cable.
- You need to plan to be here all day, until late afternoon.
